last modified May 26, 2015 12:18 PM
The RPG Research Project Community website is a global and interdisciplinary community effort to share research on the effects of role-playing games (RPGs) in all formats: tabletop (TRPG), live-action (LARP), computer-based (CRPG), & solo adventures (CYOA), and their use as therapeutic and educational intervention modalities. The early stages of this project began with the site founder in 1985 using role-playing games as an educational modality a daily high school course at Realms of Inquiry "A school for gifted & talented children", then expanded into therapeutic applications in 2004, running on the project founder's other websites until creating a dedicated community site in 2006. This open community website was created as a central repository for past, current, and future research. Additional focus includes studies on the therapeutic and educational aspects of RPGs. The community is welcomed and encouraged to contribute to this site through the many resources provided, including document archives, forum bulletin board, chat rooms, audio & video archives, polls, surveys, and more.
